Bio:

It has been great re-connecting with all of you through the virtual reunion!  Thanks to Larry and to Jane for encouraging us to get busy and tell our stories.

My husband Wavell and I met at Lipscomb and married in August 1965.  We both graduated there and put down roots in the neighborhood.  For over ten years I was employed with the state of Tennessee as a rehabilitation teacher for visually impaired adults.  Wavell worked in the insurance and banking businesses.  He is now semi-retired, and I am entering my seventh year of employment at Lipscomb as a receptionist in the Crisman Administration Building (the old library).  It's a great job!  I meet students, parents, faculty, staff and patrons, but I primarily just have to greet them and direct them!  No heavy responsibility!

Our one and only bundle of joy, Susan, arrived in 1978, and she is the best daughter anyone could ever have!  She gave us the best son ever  when she and Joey Smith married in 2002.  Susan earned her CPA designation and is an internal audit manager with HCA corporate office here in Nashville.  Joey is in visual merchandising and marketing with Bass Pro Outdoor World.

Although Wavell and I have no grandchildren yet, we do have 31 nieces and nephews who live all over the USA.  Our parents have passed away, but we are thankful we were privileged to help care for them in various ways as they declined in health.  My brother Phil is a dentist in Brentwood, and he and his family live in Franklin.  My older sister Pat passed away in 1986 at the age of 46, a victim of cancer.

Wavell and I are members at Crieve Hall Church of Christ where we have been for over 37 years.  Our friends there are truly like family.  We have been blessed with good health and everything we need plus much more.

Come visit Lipscomb!  You will be proud of what you see and hear.  Hope to see you at the reunion!
